The Whale - Fielding and Dyer
|
||
Terry Fielding and Fred Dyer were two folk singers from Woollongong (NSW) who won the New Faces competition on Bandstand in 1971 with a song called Big White Horse, and were signed to a recording contract with Spin Records, the brainchild of Clyde Packer and Harry M. Miller, Fielding and Dyer were inspired by Herman Melville’s (above) 1851 classic Moby Dick, an epic tale of one man’s fatal obsession and his willingness to sacrifice his life and that of his crew to achieve his goal. The Video was made from snippets of The Mini Series Moby Dick starring Patrick Stewart of Star Trek Fame. Proud to say that I spoke to one the Creators of this song and was told how much He liked the Clip and would like to use it, however they were in a Copyright War over their song. Tragic on all Levels, I hope they get their Copyright back on this great song.
